Hello,
I'm fairly new to the whole MPC thing. Right now I am running JJOS 1 v 4.99 on a black MPC 1000. I loaded my drum sounds and made a beat no problem. Now I want to record a MIDI sequence to send out to my external synth so that it will play in sync with the beat on my MPC. I have a keyboard plugged into the MIDI In 1 jack of my MPC and another midi cable going out the MIDI Out 1 jack to talk to my synth. I am able to get them to communicate, but not without also hearing the samples loaded on the notes I play. Basically what I did was make track 1 a 'DRUM' track and recorded my beat on that. I then made track 2 a 'MIDI' track hoping that that meant it would only transfer MIDI data thru the ports. What am I not doing that I should be to make this work? Also, am I wrong to assume that the different 'tracks' on an mpc function like tracks in Pro Tools or any other DAW in that they can hold different data that plays simultaneously?
