Ok so I have my 1000, and ensoniq midi`d together and hooked up to a 2ch mixer. I`m just beginning to understand midi, and I understand it only sends information. But my question is how would I go about recording onto a laptop I know I would need a usb interface. So say I make a beat on the mpc, and keyboard then I want to put it onto Fl studio or whatever program I decide to get. If it only sends information does that mean I would have to load my samples into the program also? Ive read all these guides, but none of them seem to answer any real questions.

Are you trying to record the midi, or are you trying to record your Audio from mixer and MPC??? see you are not clear so try to ask specific question. and we might be able to help

My 2 cents :

don't get fruity loops to record audio.

also, stick with your mpc for now, and learn the basics.

then you'll be able to use more stuff in a more complex setup.

also: you should ask your questions in the right forum section (here is specific about JJ OSes)

cheers and good luck :D

or you can just record your keyboard into the mpc either as a sample or as an audio track, and do your arranging on the mpc.
