16 levels and filter in JJOS XL

Hi all, sorry to make my first post such a lame cry for help but I'm struggling to find answers to this by searching the forum....

I've just upgraded to XL from version 2 and am not getting the expected result when using '16 levels' set to filter - it seems I always end up with a sort of lo-pass filter effect regardless of what the filter type is set to on the pad....I'm sure I'm missing something totally obvious but a nudge in the right direction would really help me!

There was a big change in os2xl with 16 levels and q-links, when they are set to filter, they now ignore/override the pad's current filter settings.

In addition, os2xl is incompatible with 16 levels/q-link data from songs done in os2. There was a big fuss about it back when os2xl was originally released. Some people chose to stick with os2, some people grudgingly upgraded to os2xl, and others just went with the flow.

thanks for the info, looks like I'll be one of the ones sticking with os2 for the time being!
