Every other controller and hard synth have been able to sequence midi data and into my MPC as well as controll external sound modules except my keystation 88es. For years, I've tried to get the 88es to send midi data to my MPC for tracking then to trigger sounds on my external sound module, but it never ever seems to work. Does anyone else have this problem?

All my setting have been tried multiple times, and my synths seem to do the trick, but I am not trying to use them as controllers.

Basically, Midi out of 88es to midi in 1 on mpc, midi out A to external sound module.
Settings on MPC set to soft thru: as track, recieve all. Settings on external module all where they need to be.

Track in MPC set to midi 1A and midi track, yet it doesn't even track midi data. Now when I plug the 88es directly into the external module, it works perfectly, but I'm trying to sequence drum tracks.

Any help, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Just an idea - did you checked if the external module listens on the midi channel 1? Did you tried all 16 channels? When you play notes on 88es, are they recorded to the mpc and you can see them there? The os xl 2.X has the midi monitor which may help you...

I have tried all channels on the MPC and on the external module. Also, I have tried to see if any MIDI notes are recorded to the MPC, which they are not. However, when I connect a synth to my MPC, it records the MIDI notes just fine.

About the OS, I was maybe thinking it had something to do why it might not be working with 88es. I am using the JJ OS...........um the first stage OS, not the free one, but the one before you pay again to upgrade (I just forgot what version it is).

Oh, and one more thing, I can however, trigger sounds from the external module with the pads on the MPC.
