NEED HELP- Sequencer damage???

First: It's really a pain in the ass- i got a MPC500 before i bought my MPC1000 and had the same problem ... at the end i throw the MPC against a wall cause it made me insane!

Few months later i sold all my eqipment to buy a MPC1000 and the Mp fu*ks me up again on the same way...

The Problem:

I makin a 4/4 beat and when i tap the Kick-drum in, i realize the Sequencer doesn't run in tight timing.

when i tap the kick it sounds every third or fourth step like i tap it twice...
i do it to the end and listen...
what can i hear?
the beat isn't tight.

i go to the step edit screen and look what's up... where's the kick drum set.
except the first bar the kickdrums are not at point.

btw: i set the Tc on 16/1 - 50% .

okay... i set the kickdrum to the points i want.
1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4, etc

what#s happened after i do that???

the beat are better in timing but after the loop starts again ,the sequencer runs not tight...

in detail:

when between the kickdrums are a gap of 2 m seconds the gaps changed to different lengths.
2 miliseconds, 1,4 miliseconds, 1,8 miliseconds 2 miliseconds and so on...

hope you can imagine what i mean...

I got JJOS the free version.

I don't know how important it is... but last two weeks sometime the display did some weird things. It shows not everything...something disappears but after few minutes it's all okay .

after i deleted the kickdrum-sample all works fine again.
weird.

Anyone mind why it happend???
Why a sample (in right conversion/wav) can disturb so much that the mpc break down???

Not quite clear on what's happening to you, but nothing like that has ever happened here. Are you saying that the pad triggers twice when you play it?

I undertand here that You HEAR a 0.2 milisecond difference..WOW You better contact Discovery Channel,
but seriously, I have never heard anybody here complaining about timing on a single track, well this could happen if there would be a lot of MIDI stuff recorded on it, but You say it's only Kick in there. Is your sample set on One-shot or note-on? Is there an active filter on it? Does the velocity of all kicks is the same in step edit?

sounds like you have a pause at the start of the sample?
trim the pause off so it fires on time.

or else you've set to fx delay, 100%wet.

I know what you should do:

1. Lay off the white rocks..
2. Take your dick out off the MPC headphone socket...
3. Trim samples correctly/re-install the OS.

If this doesn't work, just get a Zoom Streetboxx/Roland MV or wait for a "Beat Thang"...

Just because most people will be unable to tell 0.2ms difference doesn't mean its not happening. It may be worth checking out with a software sound editor like Peak or Wavelab.

If its the same sample at the same velocity (Vel to Sample Start off I hope) then it should arrive on time.

Unless it is affected by other traffic perhaps.

It may be worth checking out which track has priority, is it the first or the last. Is it dependent on the output it is sent to, if the subsequent or prior output traffic affects the timing.
