i didnt know this, but seems to be that theres a different track mixer setup for each and every sequence.

after using os2 like forever, using 2xl a lot whem it first came out, not recently tho' since theres been many changes.

i didnt realise, it makes the mpc more like a more modern sample workstation, how rather than the programs or instruments have a specific fx setting each - and they used to route to a fixed fx setup per sequence, they now route through the track mixer. that makes sense. but i had no idea that this track mixer is independent in each of the sequences. as opposed to a 'static' track mixer 'shared' by all the sequences.

its quite powerful.

Yeah the track mixer is dope all the way around. But the good thing is that you can still do it the old way (changing levels and assigning FX/outputs in either program mode or pad mixer mode).

And on top of that you can combine the two so that certain samples can keep their fx/level/pan/output settings in every sequence, and other samples can change fx/level/pan/output for different sequences.

which would rock because then a controller like the behringer BCR 2000 would update it's LED rings to show what actually happening on the MPC!! - real feedback! This is important if you want to use a controller like that.

Esp if the mpc could send out a snapshot of the settings whenever you load a new project - so the controller is all setup right.

Have JJ doing this and I will finally use my XL licence, instead of keep working on the mighty OS1!

^^^^^I don't know if this will help but think of it like this.If track 1 has a instrument program, let's say some strings, you can send the whole program on that track to an fx bus & control the volume, pan, etc. You can do the same thing with a drum program too, kinda like a drum bus on a mixing desk.Hope this helps.

I like how the Mpc will send midi bank & program changes when you flip thru sequences. The Fantom use to make you do a track edit & insert a program change,& it wouldn't even get sent unless you pressed play. This & proper track markers in a sequence would be sweet.
Also if instead of scrolling thru midi outputs a,b,&,c to get to d on a midi track if we could use the bank buttons would be a nice add on too.

I didn't know it did that (I pretty much use it standalone)

that would be something from the land beyond awesome

Yea it shines as a drum sampler/sequencer,but as a midi module sequencer it's really on point.I guess everyone has there idea of a perfect Mpc.To me,it's seconds away from perfection.....but then I'll think of a new feature & want that. But I agree " the land beyond awesome" lol

I have requested this and apparently if it doesn't pose problems it will be in the next update :) When using external gear it is pretty much essential I think.
