is there a way to revert the chopping back to the way of os1? i really do not like the fact that to change pads i have to go to the region field. also, why if i am editing the end sample field, and i hit a pad, it automatically goes to the sample start field? that is so irritating. i just downloaded the most recent version, hoping that it fixed that, but no luck.

is there a way to revert? im guessing no, but i thought i may as well ask...

thanks

peace

I might as well answer my near namesake...

There's loads of semi-hidden stuff in XL... even some of the JJ experts on here stumble on shit they didn't know about!

Have you tried non destructive chopping yet? It's the bomb.

In Trim just turn the Chop field to "on", then play around with the start and end points. Pads correspond to chops (defaults to 32 and can't be adjusted) and chops can overlap which is really nice. 8)

I've found this a major annoyance since JJ introduced this.
The only pad you can hit whilst keeping the cursor in the end field and let the sample (or chop) play through to the end as a one shot is pad8.
It does my head in when I'm quickly altering start and end points.
I wish he'd revert back to not switching to the Start field when you hit pad6.

I feel more like:

Cause you can go to start or end point simply pressing the pads. There's also a pad that plays the next slice, and a pad that plays the end of the last slice for you to be sure about the exactly slice point.

BUT I STILL GOT A MAJOR SUGGESTION FOR JJ FOR SLICING:

MAKE THE NEXT STEP AND PREVIOUS STEP BUTTONS ACT AS NEXT SLICE OR PREVIOUS SLICE !!!! (And maybe the numeric pad jump to a specific slice?)

I actually tried it expecting to work cause is so intuitive that way. So if this be implemented we won't even have to touch the cursor keys.

WOW ! Didn't knew of that. Is just what I think that was so old about slicing on the MPC and fruity slicer was so many years ahead. I'll try it right now.

man, that next step and prev step button idea is the shit! i would love that! of course only good in normal chop or slice, not really relevant to NDC

I got to admit im on the fence about the above issue. I like dedicated pads it makes it faster, but sometimes i do accidently just hit other pads like i use to. i could see dedicated pads being a prob if your pads are dying.

AMEN!!! lol Same here. And.....

Non destructive chopping was a Godsend.... Being able to play/get a feel for chops while chopping enhanced workflow as well as focusing in on where i needed to go with my beat.

Yeah, need to request to JJ to make it so the cursor doesn't flip to the start field when hitting pad06. It's such a PITA when working fast.
Maybe have an option for those that like it.
