Hi, first post here.
Have just gotten an mpc1000 and have jjos2xl on it. Searched around here and looked in the manual and am not finding out about:
If I record a pad while in Full Level or 16 Levels mode, it seems that using the Pad Mute under the track mute screen will not work on the pads that were recorded using fixed level modes. Is there a way that individual pads recorded with fixed level on a given track can be muted on the fly using pad mute?
Thanks!

Ok - I glean from the manual that this is by design and the way to approach this type of muting is to spread a kit across multiple tracks and then use track muting.
Can someone help a newb out with what is the best way to quickly tell jjos to use the same kit on 16 tracks, and then using the pads to play, have the corresponding sound (as if it were on one track) play when recording with pads in realtime?

Hello,

I've just tried with FULL LEVEL and 16 LEVELS and it works provided you press STOP once and see the UNDO SEQ led lit.
Otherwise check your settings by pressing the WINDOW button on the top of the track mute screen (mute type, mute/stop of one-shot sample...Etc)

The current drawback with pad mute is that it's not compatible with the main screen. Hope it could be improved in next updates.

For your second question press WINDOW in the main screen over the pad number (under program and next to the sample name) and you'll go to the "pad event move to other track" screen.

Thank you for the generous assistance - exactly what I was looking for - hooray!
Yes, I also hope that the mutes will be sticky in a future rev without having to remain on the mute page.
