Hi guys,

Basically having never even touched the CC controls on the MPC, i just wanted some advice on what these enable you to do.

I understand its some sort of control parameter around external devices but i'm not entirely sure of how this works/what it allows you to do. And based on how pumped everyone seems to be around the new JJOS CC capabilities, i want to know what im missing

I understand there may well be hundreds of threads on this but searching for anything like 'JJ CC' brings up too many unrelated responses, if there is a thread though then just send me that way (:

Thanks in advance!

It allows you to control Mpc buttons & sliders with external midi devices.

I'm not "pumped" about it. It means you can control various functions of the mpc from an external source. I use my mpc as controller and sequencer so I don't need a controller to control my controller which is already at my fingertips.

it isn't new functionality* so much as it is protection against component breakdown.

* though a discovered but uncharted potential external feature is the "mpc macros" concept described by mikolo.

Cc's can be used to change track volumes, pitch bends, filters and fx Parameters too. Useful when using the MPC in live situations. Someone posted a video recently of a compact midi controller designed with this in mind- 8 faders and 8 dials if I remember rightly.

I was thinking about cc to button and was thinking how jj would be really onto something if the buttons could send Cc's too- if he made that work with the 'MPC vst' idea that nym spoke about, youd be looking a truly stand alone unit that could integrate with software like NI's maschine too.

One problem I've across with the macros thing is during recording- notes get deleted when overdub loops round. I'm going to do a video cause I don't think murai quite understood me- linking the mpc into itself might be too unorthodox for them to consider it a true 'bug' it would be really useful if it was ironed out though.

it's one of those functions that you'll benefit from when you need it, and in the meanwhile since it is "offline" it appears it won't detract from any other area of the os.

i love this feature because i can use it to repair my 2nd MPC without even opening the case.
