My Mpc is haunted....I need help

I have a JJOS 2Xl operating system with upgraded pads version 2.21......Basically ever since updating my MPC to the new OS with a live looping feature it has gone haywire on me. After booting the MPC it will appear fine then start glitching out within about 30 seconds. Multiple pads will start being activated when I am not touching them and different windows will pop up such as the trim window and record window.

Hear is what I have tried to correct the problem.

I have opened up the MPC and looked at the pads....after doing this and reinstalling the plate cover the MPC was fine for a week so I thought maybe their was just too much pressure on the pads.........

1 week later I am having the same problem....

I have tried reinstalling the operating system and pressing erase before I power it on.

I have held down on the play button to do a ram check and no errors were reported.

I have switched back to JJOS 1 but after having the MPC on for 10 minutes the screen will turn blank.

I cant figure out what is going on with my mpc......

I swear its like a ghost is pounding on the pads.



any help would be much appreciate..............I NEED TO MAKE SOME BEATS!!!

FYI to the moderators I made a new username since my account is old and Optimusdeuce was something of the past. Couldn't figure out how to merge accounts or change my username

open your mpc and check ALL connections and ribbon cables (are they loose, are they damaged, etc.).

I have tried reinstalling the operating system and pressing erase before I power it on.

did you PRESS or did you HOLD erase?

Nothing seems loose.....I will try both holding deleting and pressing power and pushing delete and letting go

I'm afraid of disconnecting the ribbon cable and resetting it....i don't want to strip anything

I had a similar problem on a 2000xl,I paid $200 for it,& found out the guy I bought it from spilled some liquid inside.After changing the pad sensors,(I thought that was the problem)I took it to a tech. He cleaned the board changed some buttons and it fixed it. I said all of that to say...check all your pcb boards for broken buttons & such,& its worth it to take it to a good repair shop.

Word........I pulled out the ram and it seems to work fine on the internal 16 MB of ram.....maybe I just have a fried chip
