Hello. I have four questions about JJOS2XL. I have been reading this thread but could not find my answer but i apologise anyhow if someone has already answered them.

1) How do i make it so that i can sequence or play a sample or sequence other instruments(with midi out) without using up more than one pad(maybie that was two completly different questions)?

2) If i have made a sequence on another instrument. for example a one bar loop on my EMU SP12, and i want to record it to my MPC1000(with JJOS02XL) then how do i do that? i have got the impression that you can tell the instrument to send a trig-note then record one bar and stop recording before the second bar starts. that would be extremly usefull for me anyhow.

3) How do i do the same thing, only with the diference that i sequence the loop(on an external instrument) that im going to sample from my MPC?

4) Is there any pictures out there of the genious who made JJOS? Or more info about him? I heard that he used to work for Akai.

Use instrument program, see JJ manual

You could synchronize the two units to get the tempo right.

The same, in reverse ;-)

I have heard that he is the brother of batman, but i'm not sure. No pics though.

thanks a lot elmer. :) I had some problem syncing my Acidlab baseline 2 to the mpc but i will kepp on experimenting and reading.

About 1: So i can use several programs in one sequence, right? Even a program for a single pad?

About 2: But how do i tell the MPC record precisly one bar for example, so i dont have to cut the samples afterwards?

About 4: I reckon he is the one who is building all his technological gadgets then. ;)

You can have one program per track, why would you have a program for one pad?

You could use an audiotrack, it would do the trick.

I believe they are a group of people, but they want their privacy.

thanks again elmer. i tought that i could asign diferent programs for each track to be able to play a single note sample of for example a piano like a regular piano(with a midi keyboard) or sequence it with diferent pitches without having to put it on diferent pads in diferent pitches.

I have still not been able to kickstart any external sequencers from my MPC even tough i have choosen to send sync (and to recive on the external machines of coarse i.e. external clock).. its realy bugging me that i have not been able to figure out how to do such a simple thing yet.
The strangest thing is that i have been able to control the tempo-sync of the filters on my Mopho with the MPC master-tempo so i cant figure out why the instruments with sequencers dosent start to play when i start the sequencer on the MPC.

EDIT It seems like it was just the midi-cable that was bad. i get back on the topic later when im certain.

my xbase09 is syncing fine to the mpc1000 and recording loops works great (apart from a few things in the workflow that i will look into later).

but im still not able to sync my baseline2 with my mpc1000. realy strange....

also it seems that i have been clicking around a bit to much and somehow trigged a function that means that when i click two times on main will i not get a zoom in of my sequencer but instead a display of the record screen. how do i change that back to normal?

Is there nobody who has a clue?
