JJOSXL2 trimming samples/ small increments

I recently upgraded from AKAI OS to JJOSXL2. I did notice a note on their website that mentioned an adjustment should made so the data dial is more accurate (not skipping digits). The adjustment worked, accept when it comes to the trim mode. With AkAIOS, I was able to press cursor+shift and select the digits with the data wheel. Is there a different technique for doing this with JJOSXL2? I looked all over but was unable to find any info. The way it's working now, as an example; I'm editing a sample and want to move the edit point to around 00010159, but, using the data dial I only have the option of 00010144 or 00010925. Shouldn't I be able to change only the last digit? I know I can do that with the numeric option, but thats pretty impractical when it comes to trimming samples.

Is there a different technique for doing this with JJOSXL2?

zoom in for smaller trim increments.

Hold SHIFT and keep pressing right cursor (or hold it) to zoom in fast, then tap + once and zoom back out.
SHIFT+ left cursor zooms out.

I personally never use the data wheel with JJOS. I use shift+cursor and shift+ '-' or '+' along with the numeric keypad. This is with an mpc2500. I dunno practical that is with a 1000 without the numeric keypad (I guess not very practical as I see the 1000 doesn't have the '-' '+' keys at hand).

You can also use the Tap Tempo button instead of Shift, but I was forever accidentally changing the tempo of my sequence using that button.

The 1K data wheel can spin very fast and the data can change very quickly (not in a linear way) so I don't think it's a problem not having a numeric pad or +/- keys.

On the contrary when I use a 2K5 at my friend's crib I don't like using the data wheel because I think it's too stiff.

I guess it's all about user preferences and workflow. I remember it was a "revolution" with akai os 2.1X when they introduced trimming with the Q links. Now I'm not using it anymore. Thanks to users feedback JJ os ergonomics is better.

Oh I forgot to say that on the 1K it's more convenient to press the bar < > buttons to zoom in/out due to the buttons layout.

dude, thank you. i cant believe i missed the shift + right cursor thing. i just always hit zoom (f3,f2), or used the up cursor to blow up the wavform.

I think than using a MIDI controller, these buttons (+ and -) are quite usable ....
