messed with the settings a bit more and im just not getting any sound recorded into the looping recoder as jj calls it. record works normally its just when i get into the actual looper that it doesn't pick up anything. i had it picking up my guitar a few days ago but even then i wouldnt get a waveform as demonstrated in this video

i can hear the sound perfectly with the monitor on just never records now.

Hello,

Can you say a bit more about your setup?
how is the cable wiring and what are your settings?
Without knowing details that makes me think of a threshold problem or a REC knob problem.

im on the regular 2500 and on xl, i've got my synth plugged into the in
on the mpc, the settings are all the same as the ones i use in record mode besides trigger which i've been moving around to find the best setting. I figured out how to finally record but it requires that im in overdub mode so i have to record silence for however long i want first..? i never get any waveform during record mode only overdub.

Indeed it sounds strange.

I'm using that function in a DJ configuration so I think my answer won't be a great help.

Usually you can see the incoming signal between the left and the right part where you set the Triggr amount. It will be the size of the waveform on the right part. So if the trigger amount is too high compared to the incoming signal it won't launch the recording.

Apart from that maybe a monitoring issue in the SETUP Fkey?

Hope you will solve your problem.
