Aftertouch to MIDI not working?

My synths definitely respond to single channel pressure, but with jjos 2xl 2.27 nothing seems to happen. Do I have to pull it into a computer and convert it? Are there any synths that work with a direct connection?

I use synths and they respond to aftertouch from JJOSXL. FIrst I assume you mean MIDI velocity when you say single channle pressure?? After touch is not same as velocity of note but the velocity information after note is triggered and held so is a special midi message. ie Aftertouch. So Make sure you have it enabled on MPC (MODE9 - midi window) then make sure synth is set up to respond to Aftertouch. Not all synths respond to aftertouch, in fact not many do so check and dont asssume they do. Then make sure FULL LEVEL is off. It should work like it does here at my lab..... What synth are you using?

I got it working by using instrument mode rather than drum mode. Is that what you do too? I'm using a Korg Radias, Kawai k5000, DSI Evolver. Using the MPCs pads to send aftertouch is especially awesome on the Radias. I really dig wiggling those pads around!

I thought something might have been going on because I had heard that JJOS sends poly aftertouch, but my synths only work with 1 key at a time or channel aftertouch.

yeah sorry should have said what mode, i did not check that... I automatically go to track - midi as im sending midi to synth.... I like the evolver, friend has one, was gonna get one, but novations ultranova has me more interested.

i was wrong actually as i did not mention after touch message after note, but posted again instead of editing so you can see im a totall doofuss
