I had upgraded to 2XL and it was a bit much for me and with no easy tutorial book to help a newbie like me, I decided to switch to the free JJ OS v3.12. I also had a problem with my sequences that I had saved from the AKAI OS. The tracks were placing different "sounds" or instruments than the ones I had originally chosen. So I posted a new topic seeking help with that, and Le Rat was kind enough to point me to a link about pad assignment being changed. Well it was a helpful suggestion but I don't really understand all the technical jargon and it seems a bit advanced for me to figure out. I don't know how I would remember what the old pad assignment was, and how to change it back even if I did remember or if it was written somewhere I would still find the task daunting. Anyway, I decided to try the free OS v3.12 and now my sounds or samples, whatever you would call them are doing something weird. If I tap a pad the sound plays just fine, but if I hold the pad the sound seems to repeat at a fast pace or something like that. I am probably not explaining this correctly but I'm a newbie. The sound is distorted if I hold a pad down. I imagine this is an easy fix but I'm not sure where to find the answer on these forum topics to this problem. I did look but I may have been looking right at the topic that deals with such problems and didn't even know it. Can someone please help me and not bite my head off? Thanks for your patience.
I love my MPC, and right now I am really frustrated with this problem, and the other problem as well (pad assignment). It is making me not want to touch the damn thing, or perhaps go back to the AKAI OS. Everyone seems to think that the JJ OS is the way to go though. I know the JJ OS 2XL is the nice one but I gotta take baby steps. The learning curve is a little steep for me. I bought the tutorial for the AKAI OS and the free JJ OS was included so I figure I'll start there.
