will a sequence utilizing non destructive chopping feature work on free version of jj ?

why is max only 32 slices for the non destructive chopping, that's only 2 banks full what about the rest ?

thanks for the answers coz...few more Qs.

there is option on the bottom right corner while in trim non destructive mode I believe it says new PGM...Im assuming this will convert my non destructive chop to regular akai style pgm with numerous slices.

I dont understand why limit of slices is 32, especially with the non destructive chopping now possibilies are endless getting those banks full with different parts of the sample should be no problem now...

but I think I got workaround this....do the 32 slices and after wherever the 32nd chop ends cut copy the remaining part of the sample chop it into another 32 pieces and assign to the same pgm, should work ?

If the sample was that long I would probably chop it in half first and use NDC on both parts separately. I've not encountered a situation where 32 chops is too few, but I often find it way too many.

If I need 7 chops it'd be nice to dial in 7 and work the start and ends from there.

Don't know.

Hopefully he will incorporate the ability to choose the number of chops at some point.

my problem is usually that 32 is too much when sometimes i would like to have under that amount, even as low as two chops. therefore i second this as being something i would love JJ team to do.

edit: i've seen that you wrote exactly the same thing. i should have read the whole thread :)

to my understanding you dont have to use up all 32 slices, you can go as few as 2, then convert it to new pgm and delete the leftovers ...personally I dont like having empty banks and with the non destructive chopping loading up those long ass samples is hella quick now
