so i have my mpc 2500 with jjos 2xl stuck in some weird mode and even when i turn it off it doesnt go away.

at the moment when i push main it switches between the main sequence screen and the midi menu. i had it going between the main sequence screen and the grid edit menu before.

i cant push mode and a pad to go to any different menus.

anyone know what i did to it?

i was messing around with a beat on it before and pushed mode plus some random button (mightve been the slider pad) and then clicked enter on something im guessing because its acting differently now.

it still does this when i turn it off too.

anyone know how to get it back to normal?

**** i just got it working normal ish, except when i push main twice it still goes back to the midi menu, i dont think this is normal is it?

maybe my "mode" tact switch is going out? for along time there the led wouldnt light up on it. and now i have to push it a couple times (or in a certain spot) for it to work.

thanks man, your always comin through with the knowledge!

i set it back to program mode.

so now when i hit main it goes from the sequencer to program mode.

im pretty sure this is how it was originally, is this how its set up on yours?

i still think my mode button is going out though... :( the lights only flash if i hit it a few times.

you're welcome

Mine is set to switch between MAIN and GRID EDIT. To be honest I don't remember how it was set originally when that feature was introduced but since it is customizable it's as you wish.

For your main button problem, I'm sure there are topics and tutorial on how to take care of tact switches in the mpc1000 section but I'm wondering why the LED doesn't flash or lit like it should be. That sounds a bit strange and uncommon to me but maybe someone had the same problem already?

i just have to push it harder for the lights to flash and the button to engage, but it been working fine again, ill open it up and clean it.

i just alaways worry about having to buy one of those right side pbc boards if one button goes out, but it would probably be just as easy to soldier one new tact switch and i do know how to soldier too.

i think im gonna try and assign the numeric buttons to differnet windows, that sounds like a good idea once i get used to it.
