Audio track recording using pedal (REC/PUNCH).... bug?

I was just trying to do some recording on an audio track. Set foot-switch one to (REC/PUNCH). Recording starts, after a few bars I press the foot-switch, the REC led goes out but the MPC is continuing to record the audio signal, is this a bug?

Do you have LOOP on or off?

it behaves the same way in both modes.

I've just checked and it only works with REC+PLAY for me. Maybe we are not talking about the same thing.
