I'm faced with a dilemma here. Tracks are not lining up correctly when I track out beats from my MPC 2500 & Fantom G and its pissing me off. I put 8 blank bars before the beat starts and this is still an issue.

Specs:
MPC 2500 [JJ OS 5.48]
Fantom G
Firepod interface
Cubase LE [freeware]
HP AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.8ghz

MPC is slaved to Cubase. MPC is set to MIDI CLOCK [MTC doesnt work with Cubase] and to receive MMC. My buffer settings in Cubase are 256kb. Firepod settings are set to 2ms latency [no option for 0].

Heres a pic to show the issue. You may have to zoom in to see it: Image

ALL help is appreciated.

Do you record to daw using the separate outputs in one go or just few tracks (eg. using just stereo out) at a time?

If it's the first case, then they should line up just fine. If the second, then you probably need to use count-in for each track and then line up them manually in daw.

Here's how:
* Turn on count-in for play in CLICK menu (MPC)
* Turn on record (DAW)
* Play your track (MPC) and stop when done
* Zoom to recently recorded track and align the first Click-sound to the beginning of your sequence in DAW. Need to do a bit of manual audio cutting and moving and zooming here. Try to be as accurate as you can. So other tracks will line up 100%

Now repeat for all tracks and when you play your stuff in DAW you have everything lining up and starting 1 bar later (due to count-in). Delete the first count-in bar from all audio recordings and you're done :)
