Hi.

I want to buy mpc 1000. I have a question. Can i change multi banks in other synthesizer via midi from mpc 1000 (pattern change in global mode).

Don't you mean program change? MPC is a MIDI sequencer, so sends MIDI messages of all types. So if you mean program changes, then yes MPC 1000 does do this. In fact with two MIDI outs and a synth on each channel of a MIDI chain you could send up to 32 different program changes at 32 different synths at once. Not that you will want that many. So yes it is a very good MIDI sequencer and can handle all types of MIDI including PC and SysEx as well

now i know i can do that (global multichange), but when i changing sequence in mpc, the sequence must play to the end then akai is changing the sequence. In VIRUS C is changing multibank exactly when i push the change sequence button (or turn the dial). Can i setup mpc to change multibank in virus in the end of sequence? It`s very helpful in live act.

i know i can program pogram change in step edit, and add it at the end or the start of the sequence, but i`m using program change message in global mode, the multimode in virus has 16 single patches or program`s inside, let`s say one sequence on mpc it`s one multi (16 single patches ) in virus = one tune in live act.

the sequence in mpc has for example 8 bars playing in loop, when i want to play with cut off or resonanse in the virus on the live for 16 bars (the 8 bars loop must play 2 times) every time when the seq in mpc going to the start or to the end (the 8 bars ) of the loop, the akai is sending pc message with i was programed in the step edit, then virus is loading multi with stored in memory settings, every parameter is back to the oryginal save patch. it`s drive me crazy when i play cutoff and virus load save setting at the star or the end of 8 bars loop. In the seqencers it`s like that, when you sending pc message, the seq`s doing something like time hold pc sending, the sequence must play to the enad and then automaticly program is changing. Can i program MPC to send it that type of message?

Yes you can. No you can not.
It is a midi sequencer, so if the virus has sucha midi message, I am pretty certain that the MPC can send it. Did you read the midi implementation chart for your virus?? that is the first thing to do right in such a situation. You want to turn off receive control. Not the best way in my opinion. In fact there is a hundred other ways to do it.
First you could copy sequence and take out said PC. solved. Just switch to new copy with out PC and you have no PC second time around the exact same loop.
Another way is copy the bars into same sequence so it doubles in size. again this soves problem with PC as you take out second one.
Another way is to use song mode. Another is in JJOSXL, the other OS for the MPC1000 is pad to PC or can be set to send sysex even at a hit of a pad. This way you can set pad in any bank to send PC. There are many other ways I am sure if i think about it, but can not be assed. So yeah you can if you think about it/

Use the PC value on the main screen, per track. Set the virus in multi-single and for each sound, you have a midi track with the PCseq set to the right patch. This PC value is sent once when starting the sequence, but not when it loops around

If you really need to recall the multi with a single PC message, then just create a new midi track for this.. Use the step edit to insert a PC message at the beginning of the track which loads your multi. Then a few ticks later, insert a Track Mute, so it mutes your new track. Now, when it loops, it's muted and doesnt send the PC again..

Ignore bliprocks rambling about copied sequences and shit.

Also, I don't know if your Virus C suffers from this, but my Virus B takes a moment to load the patch. So if I set the PC value to be sent at the sequence start, and have a note which begins at or before 01.01.02 then the virus is still loading the patch at the time the note begins, and all I get is a click. The easy solution is to start the note at 01.01.03, or if timing is very critical, send a PC from within the previous bar somewhere so the patch is already loaded by the time the sequence begins. How exactly you work around this is up to your style of music and workflow I guess, a control track which mutes itself again is often useful. Note that this issue only affects the first note on a sequence where the program changes, the first time when entering that sequence. When it loops around, the PC is not sent, no patch reload occurs, and no problem exists.
