MPC MIDI Syncing Questions On JJOS 1

I’m trying to sync from FL into my MPC 2500. The problem I’m having is I’ll have a track in a sequence (I.E Track 1) with a sample but on track 2 I want to add my melody I already made in Nexus into track 2 or if I used Battery to control drums on the MPC to produce Flam hits etc. I don’t hear track 1 playback that has the sample so I can know how it all sounds together. On the free JJOS I was able to hear track 1 while overdubbing into track 2. How can I hear track 1 while I’m overdubbing into track 2 with Midi programming on JJOS?


Another question: when using midi when I have FL as the master and MPC as the slave why does the sequence on the MPC automatically switches to sequence 11 instead of staying on the first sequence I kept it on?
