hello. i am very new. i have taken time to read the stickys/faqs and i appreciate all the hard work thats been put into this necessary place on the internet for all of us. i've used the search tool to try and navigate through my problem but i can't seem to find anything here that comes close to giving me an understanding of what has actually happened to my internal mem on my mpc 1000.

i got it with 128mb expansion running the free jj os 3.16. just downloaded jj os2xl and bought the password. loaded the .os2 file from my mac on to the 2gb cf card that the unit came with and loaded it from the card on to the mpc. got the password and the setup was successful. when i go to save/load mode i can't access the internal memory at all, only the card.

i've read around that os versions after 2 use the internal memory to store other things like chords and program data and thus we os2/xl users are stuck with only using cards and HDDs. Can someone confirm/negate this and point me in the direction of understanding exactly what has happened to the internal flash mem and why i can't even see it when in load/save mode.

any guidance/links on this issue would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time.

Yeah you are confused. The memory that is in your MPC stores the everything. All you gotta do is look at trim page for samples, program page for programs, ect. Its there and load/save screens are for that loading and saving. If you mean you want to see what you are saving, because you do not know what is in there then you can save just one sample at a time. Opposite would be a project or save all-2 which saves everything. see manual....

thnx bllprock for the replies, but i think brucker answered my question. so thanks to brucker as well. i wish there was a definitive manual for jj os2xl that wasn't in japanese run through an engrish translator though. like the official unofficial one for the os 1 and 2 by stan steez, where i could learn more about this sorta stuff.
