So heres the deal.
i use mpc1000, jj0s1 (4.99) .
Midi device is a Roland Um-One
PC is working, and uses XP
Chosen DAW is Reaper.
What i want to be able to do, and what i have seen in studios, is record the midi data from the mpc to my daw. for example i have a basic beat made from drums bassline and a sample.
I want to be able to record all of the above, in three seperate tracks, in Reaper, as MIDI data. NOT AUDIO
So after recording i have three tracks in my daw, one made of midi notes which represent the hits for drums in mpc, the second the midi nots of my bass line, the third the midi notes of my sample.
So once i have done this, i can route the track 1 from my DAW to track 1 in the mpc and have the DAW trigger my mpc drum samples. etc
in short ; i want to hit play on my DAW - which then plays MIDI notes to my MPC via the um-one MIDI device, which them triggers the original samples i had in the mpc.
I can then edit MIDI data inside the computer to tighten up my MPC sequence. after im happy with it, i can record the audio from the mpc outs.
Hope that makes sense.
This has nothing to do with getting Reaper to recognise my MPC - that is done already.
This is not about syncing my MPC to Reaper - i can do that.
This is not about getting audio from MPC to PC - i can do that.
I do not want to load samples into my DAW.
Pure Midi.
If anyone can shed some light on the matter i will appreciate the shit out of it.
Cheers!!!!
