Mighty stressed here... I've a sequence with a tempo change programmed halfway through via STEP EDIT (so, the sequence starts at 148bpm, and drops suddenly to 133bpm about 100 bars in). This has played fine up until recently, when i started editing the sequence (not the tempo, just the events). Now, the tempo change keeps disappearing, i keep reprogramming it and it keeps disappearing.

Seeing as Einstein defined madness as doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result, i'd like some assistance.

General tempo set to sequence (S), not master (M). Tempo Change is ON in pop-up window.

Plus - i seem to remember a tempo edit window where i could just type in the required new tempo, whereas now i see a window with a percentage, which is a grindingly slow way of editing.

Thoughts/advice?

On JJOS2XL, most recent version (as of today's date) and the MPC1000

split the sequence up man.

Have your normal seq (call it seq 1) play at desired tempo (148) when the tempo change comes in, cut sequence one off there, make a new sequence (say seq 2) and have that tempo set to the 133.

So instead of one sequence you have two, at diff tempos.

Yeh?

edit: unless your jumping tempo between bars, in which case instead of having a 100 to 200 bar sequence, have a few smaller ones anyway. 100 bar sequence is a long way of doing things man!

What kind of editing precisely?

I remember that was it was possible to insert tempo changes directly but couldn't find it right now either.

Few months ago I reported a bug about tempo change in step edit. It was a kind of a sluggish graphic bug. Maybe while fixing it something got broken elswhere. If you can reproduce the bug each time and you're sure you're doing nothing wrong you should contact JJ.
