What is the maximum (KB)
capacity limiting for write the JJ Operating System?
Anyone know?

45 views on this topic and.... :hmmm: nobody answer?

I want to think about and answer to myself:

capacity limitation in KB is until stutters or freezes the mpc processor :?:

I'm sorry... because ....
jj plays with great advantage in these basic terms in front of the users.

one thing i've wondered is this:

multiple program types.

INST pgm and DRUM pgm are currently the two options.

what if there were multiple types of DRUM pgms with different envelope options?

for example, one with a full amp ADSR but say no pitch envelope
or maybe full envelope functionality but no NDC parameters (the new in pgm sample start/end function, which is a world of radness, by the way)

if the issue is having all parameters accessible to the same PGM at the same time, then it'd be great to have smaller-footprint PGMS with more specifically built parameters. a little more modular.

Does it work great if for instance you try to cut a 4 minutes sample in let's say 5 or 6 parts?

Can you say a bit more about the workflow? Do you have to put the sample before on the pads in the sample tab? If you press the SLICE fkey, does it automatically adjust with the sample on the pads? (hard to explain and figure out without using it sorry). Zoom out fkey? <> keys work? data wheel can spin very fast? Is there a time marker running when pressing a pad? Q links? Reverse?

I'll try to reformulate my main question more precisely. With the current NDC workflow if you don't use a preset program, most of the times you'll create a new program once done (with the drawbacks we know : 32 slices and so on) It's pretty flexible but it's kind of the opposite workflow.

So what about the new function? Is there a relationship between the SLICE fkey and the number of the same sample in the pads? Or do you have to adjust manually and anticipate in case you think you're going to change the number of slices at some point?

Last questions, NDC other drawback was its incompatibility with the looping features, what about this new function?
Will we get this function on the next regular OS?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance

It seems that the main answer starts from 11'50 in this video :

In my opinion it just lacks a LINK function fkey that would link the previous/next start/end points of the chops and make the regular slice function users happy :)

this is my biggest question as well. i will get back to you after work today to answer it, and the others. chopping/slicing is my most important workflow feature in jjos so these questions are of great concern to me.

i also have really good news regarding the current feature set, etc.

Yeah keep us updated :)

I think that's one of the main enhancement in this new version. Plus, 10 tracks looks great for those who were seeking a quick way to add/move/copy/delete bars between different tracks.

Bonus question : what happens if in your program you already have several samples assigned to pads and on another pad/sample you wanna use NDC, when pressing SLICE will it erase or overwrite previously assigned stuff or will it just shift to the next available empty space?

We count on you for the beta-test and the feedback.
