Using a MPC 1000.
In the Akai OS it is possible to set a sample as "one shot" or "note on" in the program mode. But in JJOS2XL I do not find this option in the Program window. Does it still exist somewhere in JJOS2XL ?

(I am partly asking this because in the Akai OS one must set the sample as "note on" to select the LOOP feature for the sample.)

Thanks !

Thanks a lot. I missed that.

So what is described in the Akai manual in p.64 in the LOOP section (need to use "note on" and not "one shot" for looping the sample) does not apply anymore with JJOS2XL ??

I guess I may be confusing 2 types of LOOP : one in the AMP section and one in the TRIM section (F4). My initial post was referring to the one in the TRIM section.

So these 2 types of LOOP are different or do the same ? Yes ... confused.

you have to apply loop settings (choose loop points, mode etc)
in TRIM, and then select one shot or note on (or loop & hold) in
the AMP page.

the sample will not loop if you don't set turn loop mode on in
TRIM... same as the akai os... as far as i can remember anyway.

you can use note on mode with non-looped samples, but certain
parameters behave differently - eg filter envelopes will play through
on one shot setting, but the pad must be held for them to continue
to play in note-on mode.

any help?

Thanks. so suppose i turn LOOP "ON" in TRIM. Does it matter what setting I have in AMP (one shot, note on, or loop/hold) to get the sample correctly looping ?
In other words the LOOP setting in TRIM is independent of the AMP setting (one shot, note on, loop/hold) and vice versa ? ???

Yeah just try it :)

Check the online manual too : http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/os2xl/trim.htm

This is useful to know :

If PAD1-PAD4 is pressed, a sample will be playback by NOTE ON.
If PAD5-PAD8 is pressed, a sample will be playback by ONE SHOT.
A sample will be reverse-played back if PAD3 and PAD7 are pressed.
Moreover, a start or an end point can be adjusted, carrying out audition, if a DATA wheel is turned pressing a pad (PAD1-PAD4 and PAD9-PAD12).
If PAD1, PAD2, PAD5, PAD6, PAD9, and PAD10 are pressed, cursor will move to St field.
If PAD3, PAD4, PAD7, PAD8, PAD11, and PAD12 are pressed, cursor will move to End field.
If PAD9-PAD12 and PAD14-PAD16 are pressed, the waveform of a play portion will blink.
It works similarly on the screen of F5 (CHOP).
However, there is no reverse playback of PAD3 and PAD7.

In TRIM mode try to press the F1 key too
