Envelope Settings for Drums

Hey guys!

Just curious: which enevolpe settings do you have for your single drum hits?

Since i bought JJOSxl i leaved the settings with a/d/s/r curve.

But now i think only using the decay setting (without s,r) gives me better results (like on the standart MPs...)
f.e. Attack: 0, Decay: 30-70, Sustain:0, Relaise: 0

What do you think?

If it sounds good, it is good. No rules. Just do what sounds best in each case.

If you find a universal setting that will make any drums sound great, irrespective of whether they were recorded in an all digital studio in 1987 by a Norwegian metal band playing at 140bpm or by a soul singer in an independent studio in Chicago in 1963 using analogue kit on a 92bpm track, please enlighten us all.

You really need to understand the concept of ENVELOPES (amp env, filter env, etc) to make ADSR settings work to your advantage during sound design.

There is no "one size fits all" approach.
