Question 1:

I am using an electron machinedrum with my mpc 1000. I would like to say stop the machinedrum at some points, for example:

Bar 1: Machinedrum loop
Bar 2: Machinedrum stop
Bar 3-4: Machinedrum loop

I just thought of a workaround where I would make one empty sequence on the machinedrum and just switch it to this when I don't want drums, but is there a way I can program something like [kill/stop all notes] to the MD?

I also have a evolver which has a sequencer as well, and there is an option on this to just play the sequencer once through as well as just having it loop, but there is nothing like this on the machinedrum.

Question 2:

Is there a way after I press stop on the MPC, to have some notes kind of linger/hang or does this strictly depend on the way the synth's patch is programmed?

i think you just might have to build a sequence with the "stopped" bar, but someone might be abile to clarify for me.

i know when i use battery 3 with my mpc, i cant stop the battery 3 things with the "stop" buttons on the mpc like i can if everything was in the mpc.

although, i could probaly make a workaround with the midi cc messages (i did this before with my mpd) im assuming that your other sequencer doesnt have a panic button that can be mapped to midi though..
i think i used a mute group that muted everything in battery 3, and when i wanted to stop the sequence, i would just hit that pad/button, maybe see if your hardware can do this.
like i said, someone else who is more familiar with your gear, or sequencing other hardware from the mpc might be able to help a little more.
