I'm having a hard time figuring out how to cut off a pad playing as soon as it's sequence ends.

There is a 3-bar sample I'm using in a 2-bar sequence with loop off, so when the 2-bar sequence ends the 3-bar sample continues to play for 1 additional bar.

I want it to cut off as soon as the sequence ends.

This is with JJOS 4.99.

Any input is appreciated!

wait... do you mean the sample starts to play on top of itself when triggered? if that's the case then change the program or pad to mono instead of poly.

but if you mean it keeps playing after you hit the STOP button... then in the TRIM screen... shorten the sample length of the sample that keeps playing once the sequence has stopped... make the end point closer to where it loops and determine where you want the sample to get cut off.

You could trim the sample. Or put a random sound on a pad, turn the volume all the way down and have that pad set to "cut off" the loop. Simply program the new silent cutoff pad in at the very last step in the sequence.

Remember to actually put a sound on that pad and mute it. An empty pad dosnt work.

Sup crossings! Thanks for the quick reply.

Yeah I'm talking about it keeps playing after I hit the STOP button and it also continues to play like this...for example, when I'm in SONG mode and have it set up like:

Sequence01
Sequence02
Sequence01
Sequence02

The 3-bar sample is in Seq01 and continues to play over Seq02. What I want it to do is cut off as soon as Seq01 ends so it doesn't play over Seq02 because Seq02 does not use that sample.

Thanks for the tip about TRIM mode though I'll give that a shot.

Sup m56p87. Your reply came in as I was writing back to crossings. That idea is genius tho!

Can't take all the credit, it's been done before. But thanks!

there are numerous ways actually..... you could also automate the track mute at the beginning of the next sequence... or you could set the sample so that it only plays while you hold down the pad instead of playing all the way through... or you can have a blank pad mute the pad with the sample, etc...

with jjosxl you can make samples end with truncate duration. It would do exactly what op wants with out having to edit samples length. Just so you know. Look for it in your JJOS but I am not sure if it is in there, [MODE] + PAD 10.
