OK, here is a tip from for ya.
Do ya wanna rock the EFX a bit more. Wanna bang out effects changes by the pads?
Of course you do.
who the hell wouldn't?
So do this simple set up and you can. It will allow you to use the pads to make effects changes in realtime. Now it is for the effects slot/number change not parameters, but if you think about it (did you?), you can easily COPY the effects set up and tweak it. Or maybe make a completely crazy effect and a vanilla one. So with midi effects control its pretty good and can be very useful.
I do this a lot so thought that I would show ya if you aint thought of it.
Yes its a simple case of patterns of course, and a set to if you want. Meaning we are gonna set some pads to pattern play. use bank D say for instance.
1. Go to a blank track, the best way is to use blanks and fill em up, but you throw this away later.
2. A pattern has to be a bar length, and with blank track of two bars you can make 2 effects changes, one from each bar. You can put more in but this is the basics, and just makes simple EFX selection by pads.
3. Go to sequence edit window of you blank track and at the start of each bar insert EFFECT change. MAKE SURE IT IS AT THE START OF THE BAR. This means it becomes instant then and you do not have to wait for effects change. Make sure the effect number relates to the effect number you want. Make sure you use two different ones to, so you can tell
4. Next bit is easy to, nearly finished. Convert each bar to a different pattern. If you did above it will be a blank bar with one effects change at the start. Nothing else at all. Now name the pattern to something like effects for ease of use. I use same number of course, so EFX1 is the the pattern that contains the EFX slot 1 only.
5. On the main screen you select a couple of pads and change them to pattern play and choose the patterns you made.
6. go crazy
You should now be able to hit pad and it will instantly change all the effects of the MPC and give you crazy control over effects. enjoy
