Can i have a program which is a combination of drum and inst

Id like to have a program which in drum mode on the bottom octave for single sounds and loops, and instrument mode on an upper octave for across the octave free playing of an instrument type sound that is keygrouped chromatically.
Is that pssible? If not, whats the best work around?

Sure, you first make chromatic drum program with your inst sample than change whatever you want on bottom, no?

Thanks. Well, in the jjosxl there is an "instrumen״ mode which works kindda like akai s series, however its not the same as mappin drums. What is chromatic instrument? Is that broght over from akai os?
