I just purchased the mpc1000 and it has JJ OS 3.08 installed with the 128mb installed. I have 2 questions.

1) Why do my pads NOT cut eachother off? I have them set to mono but they still over lap one another.

2) I loaded 2 songs onto my cf card through my pc. I downloaded one in wav. form from youtube and I can chop and sample and assign samples to pads no problem. The I ripped a song from one of my cd's (store bought not burned) and converted to wav. form also and after I chop and push edit to create sample it says insufficient memory. It wont let me do anything with the chopped song. Keeps saying insufficieent memory. Ive even edited the start and stop point to pretty much nothing and still says it. Any advice???

1/ mute groups.
on the 2500, it's mode-pad7, then the window button, if I remember correctly.
Assign all the pads you want to cut eachother off to one group, OR tell each sample to cut another.

2/ errrr, insufficient memory?
:D
with the larger 128mb ram, you've only got 12 minutes of audio time to mess with.
to check audio (ram) availability, go to the record page, mode - pad 5, then press the window key.

Sequencer memory is to the far left in the load page.

;)

Good luck!

Thanks for the info..but about #2. I dont even have anything created plus Im not even saving anything Im doing. I have 2GB CF card plus the 128mb internal. And I only have those 2 songs on my CF Card that Im using to mess around with. It only does this with the song I got from an actual cd. I dont have any problem sampling anything else..IDK thanks though I guess I will figure it out.

for question #1 it should be a lot easier than messing around with mute groups. sounds like you simply need to set your program to mono, not just the pads..

Voice Overlap:MONO will only set a pad to play monophonically with itself.

In the PROGRAM > PARAMS screen, set Play:MONO in the top right of the screen.

Alternatively, set all pads to the same mute group. The advantage of this method is that you can then set certain individual pads to be polyphonic, or only monophonic with each other, which cannot be done when using the global Play:MONO.

Also, get yourself over to JJ's site and update the OS to 3.15, fixes many bugs.
