Hey All,

First of all I'd like to say that this forum has been extremely helpful and I have tried to avoid posting until I really had to.

I have a piano program where I dumped an 8 minute stereo sample into the MPC and I chopped it up using non-destructive chops. Now that I want to add more instruments, I was wondering if there was any way that I could just keep my chops without the rest of the sample (i.e. make my destructive chops non-destructive), as my total chops are probably less than 1 minute and would save me a ton of room.

Please let me know if I should clarify anything, or if this has been asked before please point me in the right direction. Again, I read the manual, the JJ manual, and searched the forums and found nothing, so I apologized if I overlooked something.

Thanks,

Dan

i didnt know about that shift+extract, im gonna try it!

ive thought about this before also and the only way i could see it happen is going into record mode and setting it to "main inputs" or whatever it says, then clicking record and then pushing the pad.
you wont see the little clip meters going on, but when you push stop it will be a new sample that you can save.

Interesting, thanks for the information guys. And Bathmutz, again I'd like to stress that I did read both manuals I just must have missed this information. I know how annoying it can be to answer questions that are clearly outlined int he manual and I didn't (and don't) want to be one of those guys.

Thanks again.

By the way, totally off-topic, people who say you can't get the MPC1K and 2K5 to bang like the originals don't know how to make things work... This machine can absolutely thump :)
