Quick query - Audio Tracks/Looper

Don't have a MPC on hand but wanted to know if this is correct.

Audio Tracks can I record my bass/guitar onto the audio track alongside my beat?. So for example I create a beat, want to lay down a bassline can I just go to an audio track and just record and have the beat playing in the background?

Looper is this simply another variant of the audiotrack, except I can overdub correct?

Plus quickly how many audio tracks do you have at your disposal?.

All you said is correct.

In recent JJ OS versions, you can use any tracks as an audio track. The limiting factor is polyphony.

apologies but so does this mean I can have more than 8 tracks to record on to, what does this mean in terms of how much polyphony I have left?.

each sample would tax polyphony.. is it 32 note polyphony?? technically you could have 32 audio tracks running at once.. with no pgms or midi tracks playing..

Yes, 32 voices if samples are mono (half if stereo)

Don't forget to have a look at the manual :

" If a type is chosen as "AUDIO" in the track type field, the track can be used as an audio track. (A maximum of 32 tracks, MONO)"

There are many limitations too. Check the blue lines.

Thanks need to check that once I'm home but can answer this quicly, mostly I work with 8 tracks with programs so it means its possible to have 8 audio tracks without any issues?.
