Hi there,

JJ OS2XL, MPC1000

I am sending program change messages from my Elektron Octatrack to change sequences on my MPC. But I am also using the Octatrack for changing preset on my Nord Lead and Kaoss Pad with MIDI CC on other channels.

My problem is that the MPC changes sequences no matter what channel I am sending the program change on. Isn't it possible to make the MPC react only to program changes sent on one channel?

Cheers,
Nikolaj de Haan

Which OS ? Xl yeah
Have you got this in midi page ?

Active track receive channel:ALL
Soft Through:AS TRACK
Sequence change by program change:OFF

set the channel to midi channel that MPC program changes are being sent on.

Turn of last option to turn of sequence change. Your question is actually vague, are you asking is it possible to stop the program changes changing the sequence?
THe answer is yes if you read the manual and looked at your settings :smoker:

I'm not sure why this wouldn't be possible, but I can't find any explanation in the manual. Bliprock, I believe he's asking if PC -> Seq Change can be channel-specific. From the looks of it, the answer is no.

Can you describe your MIDI chain? Maybe there's a clever work-around.

You're right, that's what I mean. Here's my MIDI chain:

Octatrack MIDI OUT -> MPC MIDI input A
MPC MIDI output A -> Nord Rack, Kaoss Pad and Pitchfactor
MPC MIDI output B -> MPC MIDI input B
