How to record count in into DAW for aligning

What is the best way to record a 4/4 count in of a click into the DAW to align everything>?

Is there a way besides making a sequence specifically for that purpose?

I would rather do it this way than mess with Ableton track delays and stuff.

I'd say take the Output from the back of the MPC into the Input of your interface, right?? And be sure the count in for play is on. The MPC should play the count in through the outs after that

Or is that not right, and you Don't hear the count from the outs of your MPC?

I figured it out just to start ableton recording and then push play on the MPC

thought there might be a way to use the Midi MMC but Ableton won't start until after the count in.
