Yesterday I played my first full length liveset, where the MPC1000 with JJOS1 5.0 is the master sequencer. Worked well except some strange artifacts with sounds that I stored with 22kHz.

Each song is represented as one Sequence in my MPC. When I stop the running Sequence, change to the next one and press start everything works well for the whole set.

But when I play all Sequences in a row without stopping (via NEXT SEQUENCE) some of the 22kHz samples get played 12 semitones higher. Usually these 22kHz are played back 12 semitones lower, so it seems this setting is ignored when the MPC is playing several Sequences in a row.

Tried to reconstruct the problem but it doesn't appear when I just play 2 Sequences in a row. Seems it just happens after a long while (20-30 minutes) of playing.

Maybe before a set resample (not convert but audio resample, like record main out on the 22 and save as wav which will be 44)) the 22 to 44 to match with all other samples. It will play the same speed as original but will now have 44 properties. If all match then maybe the will be no problem.

That's a solution, but I converted the sample to 22 to save memory :)

I'm pretty sure that this is a bug, because the samples play fine when I press STOP and then START the sequence. It's nothing that kills me but it would be much better to play the set in a row instead of stopping between each track.

Maybe there are some other sounds you can convert to mono, you know where they need stereo information. If you have a bassline, like sinewave, you can convert that all the way down as far as you can (I used to do that on ASR10 to save memory) and it since the freq is so low it didn't bother the sound at all. Try and see if you can save memory somewhere else and maybe get that 22 back up to 44 so it runs smooth again, a balancing act of sorts.

I already converted most samples to mono and even pitched them 12 semitones higher (with playback -12 semitones) to save memory everywhere. The 22kHz thing is just one step more, as I though it'll work out fine.

Anyway, I'll find a solution... :)

Well, Ive never experienced this before, but anyway, now I'm on os2xl and this thing is happening also here in next seq mode with samples at any rate, even 44100.
Basically I made simple 1 track seq, copied it to make 4seqs, and recored q-link realtime tune to just 1seq. I went to next seq mode.. and 2,3,4 played fine but after this 1 sequence played, all of them had changed pitch (last realtime event form seq1 from the same track). This is only thing coming to my mind for now, that can cause that.
Actually is possible to load up samples even with odd sample rates like 14441, found that as I loaded some E-mu drums and all of them had various sample rate, beside all play fine, all between 1000Hz and 384000Hz ( can't get lower :-D )
