Hi!
Hoping someone here might be able to help me out.
My MPC (JJOS1 4.99 / 128MB RAM) was working 100% until I recently put it in checked luggage while travelling. The security guys opened my bag en route and when I opened my gear case and looked inside the MPC - of course, broken pins in the CF reader
So, I'm trying to install a hard drive now, but having some difficulties. I first purchased a Transcend SSD 32 GB, formatted it for FAT32, installed with the HDM-10 kit, and when I turn the MPC on and go to the LOAD screen to format the drive, nothing shows up except for Memory Card and Internal.
I read that this may have to do with the fact that the Transcend SSD is by default set to Slave with no jumpers added, but since there are no other drives in the MPC1000 I don't think this should be the issue.
Same deal with the HD-CF mod, I installed it all fine, and when I go to the LOAD screen, nothing shows except for Memory Card and Internal. I checked the specs of the HD-CF adapter and should have been fine, but unfortunately nothing shows up.
Does anyone know if I have to switch back to the Akai OS to format the hard drive? Because my MPC clearly isn't recognizing it with the JJ OS operating system.
Perhaps it's just an issue of a compatible hard drive, I've already checked the other sticky that posts compatible hard drives, but that's dated from 2005 and many of those are unavailable or quite expensive compared to other 2.5" IDE drives available.
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks
