Filter across the main output with cutoff and res mapped to

Is this possible:
I want to put a LPF filter across the whole output of my MPC1000 and map the filter cutoff and resonance to the two sliders on the MPC. Is this possible? Running latest JJOS.

Yeah, it would be great. I'm playing live using just the MPC 1k sequencing a Waldorf Blofeld which is run into the MPC (house/techno stuff) and everything sounds great but I'd love to be able to sweep a low pass filter across the whole output and maybe run it through a delay. Might have to look at a Kaos Pad or something similar. I've seen Onra using the Kaos Pad in this way so maybe that's the best solution.

I was about to say yes of course with JJOSXL, until you said you run a synth into the mpc ALREADY.

In this case, with your current set up you'll need a mixer.

Route your tracks to your individual outputs and plug them into the mixer along with your synth.

Mixer out into MPC REC IN.

Input Thru screen. Route to FXs for delay. I know you said filters... so go to MAIN.

Set an Audio Track, put your QLINKS to LPF.

Yep, sounds like that will do the trick but I will need to buy a mixer for live use. Thanks for the workaround, might be the best solution.

Can't seem to get an LPF assigned to Q-link sliders to effect the rec input in real time. How do I do this?

There is no control over the input filters. If you look I have made a request here for them to respond to midi CCs as they do in the tracks. Changes here can not be inputed into the sequencer like fx changes can. So I feel that implementing midi cc control over filter an easier development software wise instead of enabling theses as an extra event information in the sequencer. But it you want Qlink then yes it would mean that it has to be an event in sequencer.
Only work round I have is copy sequencer and delete everything as in notes ect and put in filter sweep. So it matches up and no matter what it is you can then just simult the sequence over the top. This can be one to say 16 bars of filter info - be it midi or MPC programme. I kinda do it with pattern to pad in XL and OS3 to but it's hard to push 16 pads at once.

Ah, I see. Yes, it would be a great feature to implement. It looks like I'm gonna have to get a delay unit with a filter for the main output. I really want to recreate what I do in the studio with an RE-201 and a Moogerfooger filter but I don't want to take that stuff out on the road with me.
I'm looking at the Boss RE-20 (but no filter) and the Jomox T-Resonator (which I'm not sure sounds that nice so I'm gonna have to go and try one out).
I don't want to spend a lot of money so it's a tough one. Korg Kaos Pad might be an option but I've heard the filter sounds crappy and I've been working with really good filters (roland, moog, vermona, etc) for so long that I don't think I would enjoy something if the filter sounds thin.

You are used to the sound of analog filters but would still be OK using the filters on your MPC?! Compared to the internal DSP filters on the MPC, I doubt there's a big diff with using a kaospad.. Heck, I never use the filters on my MPC, even the LPF sound on my Kontrol Z2 mixer sounds better..

You sound like a techno guy? Techno deserves good filters on the 2bus sweeps man

To be honest, I have hardly used the filters on the MPC at all. I was only gonna use them for this but now it looks like I can't. Might try the Kaoss pad in the shop and see how it goes. If money was no object I'd get the akai mfc but it's a little too expensive.

I don't understand the reluctance to use the Moogerfooger filter, aren't the Moog and the Jomox filters much the same price?

Well, there's a couple if issues:
1. The Moog filter pedal is mono so I'd need two of them for a stereo output and they're expensive and heavy (and quite noisy tbh)
2. I am really looking for an all in one solution for delay and filter. I've done some research and the Jomox unit is not suitable. It needs a limiter after it and from the demos I could find it's not the sound I'm looking for. Right now the Boss RE 20 and some kind of stereo filter look like the best option (Kaoss pad might still work, gonna try one out today).
