My stereo output doesn't seem to be working on one side. So I output all my samples to the individual outs, I understand Im losing alot here but I dont have the dough to fix the output card on my MPC right now. It would totally be useful for everyone if this was possible. Is it possible and Im over looking something?

Yes, you have to resample your main outs. I'm on Xl but i am pretty sure you can do it the same way on 128xl.

First, go in "other" mode (MODE + pad 10) and make sure your master level is set to 0 db. Then, go in record mode and select "main out" as the input. Put the mpc on "full level", adjust threshold, hit record then hit the pad you wish to resample with the effects on. You now have a new sample which you can output to any individual out. If you find the new sample to be too quiet or too loud, delete it. Go in "program" and adjust the appropriate pad's level there. In XL it is set to 80 by default. Also, if you want a sample to stay in stereo, you need to send that same sample to 2 individual outputs and hard pan them individually L and R.

Hope that helps.

Peace

:hmmm:

Your question was: Can effects be sent to the individual outs in jjos128xl ?

Ok here's how i should have put it: No they can't.

cbright9 wrote:That is one way of doing it, its helpful but its not what Im looking to do. It may be the only way to do it though.

Oh i think it is exactly what you are trying to do and yes, resampling is the only way to add effects to individual outs within the MPC.

Resampling is the solution to a lot of MPC limitations.

Using this method, you are not loosing that much. All you loose is the one output of the stereo pair (main outs) that isn't working so that leaves you a total of 9 individual outs for a MPC2500 and 5 for a MPC1000.

You could also use your digital out. It outputs the same L/R signals as the stereo main outs except it is a digital signal (it sounds pretty good BTW). Could be another solution in your case.

Again, hope that helps.

In my opinion, losing one half of my stereo output, the only output other than the headphone jack that can utilize the effects processor inside of this machine is quite a loss.

Furthermore your previous suggestion to resample, while it is a help, like I mentioned, it is not what i want to do.
However thanks to your quick response, I didnt lose much time making the decision to use 4 of my 8 auxes on my 01v96 for effects.

use your digital out, or use your headphone out with a TRS on one side and a dual TS on the other.........

RootsRen is being mad helpful here man, how about giving dude a thankyou for helping (or trying to)

Im not sure whats going on here, maybe I don't speak english well?
I wanted to know how and if it was possible to output effects via the individual outputs, not resample, not use my digital outs, not use my headphone out.

I got the answer I was looking for after I was instructed on how to multisample, which like I said before, is not what I was looking to do. Its not possible to output effects via the individual outputs.
Anyways, like I said in my last post, Ive devised a way to use my mixer's auxes, which are probably better in any case.
Thanks for your help Roots, you were mad helpful, and Tom I really appreciate all your input as well.

Shortly: NO.

'NO' as in 'there is NO way to route the FXs to individual outs' and the reason it's because the FX processor is not wired that way.

That's why people are offering you workarounds to get the same result.

One thing definitely worth checking:
Open up your mpc, (you can find tutorials online on how, if you've never done it before) and unplug then reinsert the ribbon cable that connects the audio output circuits to the input/output level knobs (I'm assuming you're on a 1000. if not, someone else could help you do what I'm suggesting, I only know the insides of the 1K)
It is a connector about an inch wide that is up at the top-right of the right-side PCB, next to the output level knob.

It's perfectly possible it might have come loose, or made a bad connection; re-seating the connector might solve it.

Thats what I'd do.
I suppose its possible that a board could be burned out but it seems more likely that something might be loose IMO.

Sometimes pulling the jack in and out after a while can push the connections out of shape in the hole also, when you have to start wiggling the plug, then you have to just bend them back.
