Timing Correction question JJ OS 1 (v4.99)

just a quick question up timing correction: if I record a drum pattern at 16th notes, can I record a loop sample at 8th notes? It seems that if I record with 16th notes, this timing correction is now applied globally across all tracks. Or, does this simply mean that sequences are recorded at a certain timing correction and locked in with say 16th notes, then if I change to 8th notes to record something else this will only apply to the recorded data and not then override my original 16th note timing??

Does this make sense? Basically I'm asking if changing the timing correction after recording a pattern will then alter that patterns timing correction. This question also includes swing %.


i.e drum pattern 16th notes with 53% swing, loop sample at 8th notes with 50% swing (no swing).

It does not apply to previously recorded notes as far as live recording. So you recorded 16th, setting is active on all tracks. You change to 8th, it will now record 8th on every track you will go.

Other thing is offline time correction screen, where you are "fixing" TC, than is applied to whole track you are on.

By offline timing correction do you mean in the main screen?
I usually record in step edit then alter the timing correction in the main screen. Is this the wrong process?

By offline I mean, when sequencer is stopped, and than under T.C. tab you got menu for edition, but that's just other thing.
