APC40 is a clip launcher for live.

you can hook up your MPC and APC via midi through your interface and have one trigger the other i suppose.

I used the APC40 for launching stems I've mixed from my MPC and remixing the beat all together in live.

so... i'll break it down the way I used it:

Made the beat on the MPC > mixed down stems into logic/pro tools/ whatever DAW > transferred those stems to live > remixed the beat with my APC40

hope this helped

Why do you wanna use both? if you have Ableton and an apc 40, the apc replaces the MPC, I use it like forkspoon did. Make your clips in Ableton with tracks or sounds you recorded from the MPC, arrange them, plug in your apc and launch the clips or sounds with that.

Your question is a tough one, since there are really infinite ways one could use the APC40 with an MPC. Let us know what you'd like to be able to do, and we can get more into specifics..

The most common way to use the APC40 AFAIK is to use it as a clip launcher for Ableton audio/MIDI clips, and towards this the default plug-and-play mappings cater to quite adequately. But you can do much, much more if you want (and have the energy/resources to do a bit of work on your end). Without Ableton, the APC40 works as a standard MIDI controller with LED feedback which you can map to various functions on the MPC (assuming you use JJOSXL).

Surely the mods on this board can relocate this thread then?
