Just got a used 2500 HELP NEEDED

Hey everyone

I just received my MPC 2500 that I got used. IT seems to have JJOS1 5.53 already installed on it.

I would like to update this to the latest version but when I load it to my memory card from the computer (MAC) it does not show on the MPC. Please note that I can see it when the card is mounted to the computer through the MPC. Could this be because I need to update to version 2 first?

Also do I need a password in order to do this? Would this be easier/safer for me to just go back to the original OS and purchase the latest version myself? I'm worried about bricking my new baby.

Have you verified whether or not you have a password?
Are you downloading 5.56 which is the newest version of OS1?

I downloaded JJOS 2 and installed it. After that the latest JJOS was available from the memory card. Problem solved.
