Assignable output questions.

my question is really a straight forward. I need to know what the purpose of the 4 assignable outs is AND how i can apply this to using a mixer. I want to try to record to cassette tape. I dont have a computer with a DAW and i would like to try to stay away from them. I used to use pro tools with an mbox but i really hate clicking around all day long. Hands on is better for me. Thanks in advance for any response!!

They are so you can send some sounds out separate outputs to the main L/R mix.

You could send these into separate mixer channels, and apply different EQ/effects/panning/mutes/etc. using the mixer controls, or into an audio interface on a computer, and have the tracks separate for similar reasons.

Okay so for example i could track out kick , snare , hi hat , and sample on 4 seprate channels into a mixer and from the mixer into any recording unit?
