Volca Beats won't restart on beat 1 with MPC1000 + JJOS Free

I'm currently having a Volca Beats sync via MIDI clock to the MPC1000 running JJOS Free. I am able to have the Volca sync to the correct tempo, however when I hit "Play Start" in Song Mode, on the MPC the Volca starts playing right where it had previously left off rather than on beat 1 every time.

My theory is that the Volca receiving a "continue" message rather than a hard restart message, and my understanding was that hitting the "Play Start" button would send a message to have whatever slave sequencer restart at 1 like the MPC is doing....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the Volca start properly when the MPC is not in song mode? I'm thinking that there may be a bug in song mode on the free OS.

^^^^ I have a volca keys and it's always worked wonderfully from the regular play modes. I never use song mode except to bounce a collection of sequences which then I always immediately bounce as one, bigger sequence - I never use song mode really. Way more likely that there's a bug in there to me at least.
