I'm having an issue midi slaving my Akai MPC 1000 to my Roland TR-909

I have the 909 set as the master clock and it's also syncing a couple of other bits of gear with no dramas but whenever I hit play on the 909 my MPC starts for just a split second before stopping (green light flashes millisecond of audio comes through) and I have no idea why

I'm running EPROM chip version 1 in the 909 which I know has some issues but using it as the master has never caused any trouble for me before (I'd also prefer to use the 909 clock over the MPC even if I did have the EPROM upgrade)

I'm running JJOS 3.15

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It could be your older chip causing the problem.
I've got the v4 chip in my 909 and can midi to my other gear with no problems. I don't have 1000 to test it.

first i'd check the 909 output on a midi monitor. then i'd check if the mpc works fine when slaved to other clock sources. i'd try this basic midi troubleshooting first before swapping any eproms or whatever.
