My MPC 1000 and 2500 have been collecting dust for the last several years and I'm getting back to it finally. They both got problems though.
The 1000 has OS1 and OS2XL loaded but will not start with OS2XL. It will sometimes freeze up when I try to adjust a whole parameter in GPE and I have to reboot. The biggest problem though, is that it won't save on my compact flash card. I've gotten it to seemingly save but when I go to load it later it says wrong file.
The 2500 doesn't have as many software issues but the jog wheel is trash. I cannot work on it and just wonder if there's an easy fix, or how much a proper fix might be.
Please give me guidance MPC people so I can get back to it.

These are tools, if you don't treat them how supposed to... how you expect them to do anything for you
on 1000, hold erease while powering on and backup and format ALL drives in MPC

if still freezes -thaat's hardware problem with inside cabling or smth

2500 - go to technican to replace encoder

For the 2500 the best long-term option might be copping the revised right side PCB board from MPC Stuff (https://www.mpcstuff.com/mpc-2500-right-side-jog-wheel-and-vol-pcb-board/). A quick fix might be trying Deoxit on it, depending on how bad it is.

For the 1000 +1 on reformatting the drives or trying a different card. If not a hardware problem it sounds like it might be a CF card malfunction. Hope you can get that stuff fixed!
