How to load sequences in SONG mode

MPC1000/JJOS2XL

After pressing mode + pad16, I get to the SONG mode window.

But in the "SEQUENCE" column I only get either an "unused" sequence if nothing is loaded, or else just one sequence: ie the one I just loaded. If I try to load more sequences I still get only one sequence in this column, ie the last sequence loaded. So I got nothing to put in step 2, 3, etc. except if I copy what's in step 1
and put it in step 2, etc..

Basically, how does one get all these different sequences listed in the "SEQUENCE" column ?

That's kinda weird behaviour for os2XL - I create or load several sequences from the Main screen & then I can select them when on the Song mode screen - I just arrow down to the next slot & pick the seq with the data wheel.

Thanks for the reply. My problem was above all due to my lack of understanding, and somewhat to my workflow: I mostly work by creating and saving projects ( (I use save ENTIRE MEMORY-1, so the folder contains SEQ, PROG, SAMPLES all together in that project folder).
But since the beginning all my projects had only one sequence ... Embarrassingly enough I never knew or thought that each project could have several sequences .

So reading about SONG and seeing sequences lists as illustrated in the manual, I thought that different sequences could be "imported" from different projects into one SONG, which I now find out is not possible.
So I finally figured that in order to create a legitimate SONG I must create several sequences within the same project.

This brings about a question: with JJOS2XL can a SONG be played continuously, ie looping/cycling continuously through the listed sequences ??

I understand this, my question is where these sequences come from: I just realized they must come from the same project.
For example one could not assemble a SONG by taking a sequence from a project A and another sequence from a project B, and another from a project C. (Unless I am mistaken).

You can but they HAVE to be already loaded into project you are on.

But then the question is: how does one load or import a sequence from one project to another project.
So far I know only how to create sequences from within a project, ie "native" sequences.

You can store separate sequence in a first place, than load or this:

Thanks !! after reading your post I grabbed my old Akai OS manual, and sure it is ... on page 95.
Proves that even when using JJOS there is still useful and important reference material in the Akai OS user's manual

no problem, I prefer pdf as it's faster to find any phrase or word. actually jj wrote in first sentence of all manuals that he only listing new or changed features and that you have to support with original manual for basic stuff.
