JJOSXL free?

Hi, I've been a long time OS2 user, and recently decided to get OSXL. Here is what happened...

I downloaded OS3 first, expecting to be able to see the Product ID number in the LOAD screen but I didn't see it. So I downloaded OSXL from the JJ site, hoping the Product ID would show up there so I could purchase a password. Still no luck.. However, after installing what i thought was the free version os OSXL 3.52, I realized that I WAS able to save my work, and everything seems to be working fine. Did I somehow get the OS for free? I don't get it.

The upgrade from OS2 to OS2XL is supposed to cost 15$.

probably you got second hand unit (?) and somebody has paid for pass before as it does not reset when downgrading an OS

I bought the unit new in 2006, and nobody has touched it but me...

but Since downloading the OSXL, my MPC has frozen on me twice... both times while I was holding NOTE REPEAT.

Hopefully this won't happen if I can get an official password?

^ Did you do the system refresh thing after installing the new OS? Hold down erase while powering on. You can expect the MPC to be buggy if you don't do this.
