Free JJOS Ver. 3.16 installation troubles, MPC 1000

Hey guys,

I've been trying to do my research, but I can't seem to find a solution to my problems. I have connected my MPC 1000 via USB and downloaded the free version of JJOS. I click, hold, and drag the file over to my MPC CF. So my problem is that when I go to MODE > PAD 2 (Load) > Scroll to the mpc1000_jv316 file, it won't allow me to press my F6 or "DO IT" button.

Something I found somewhat strange is that whenever I attempt to disconnect the MPC from my computer, the MPC freezes and becomes unresponsive. The only buttons that react when I push them are the REC and OVER DUB buttons and I can only tell due to the little red light. I'm unsure if that could possibly corrupt the file or not and how I could possibly fix it if it just freezes. I have tried restarting my computer, deleting and redownloading the .bin file, disconnecting the mpc, etc. I'm stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Try a different USB cable. Different computer port. Try a different CF card.

Ok, I'll try to pick up another USB Cable.

As for the CF Card, I was reading that the original AKAI OS can only read up to 4gb or something like that? So I'm assuming it couldn't take an 8 gb CF card? I'd like to pick one up in a store and not have to wait for a CF card to come in by mail.
